Bus Service Planning Guidelines

The Service Planning Guidelines are a "how to" guide for bus planners; network designers and operators. They outline the aims, objectives, anticipated outcomes and principals of bus planning.

The Guidelines also provide an outline of the community consultation process, which help operators and the general public gain an understanding of how the community can become involved in decision-making.

The Guidelines have been prepared by the Ministry of Transport, in consultation with bus operators and peak bus planning stakeholders, including the NSW Council of Social Services, Action for Public Transport, Combined Pensioners and Superannuants' Association, Commuter Council, Council of Social Services of NSW, Council on the Ageing, Total Environment Centre, Western Sydney Community Forum, Youth Action Policy Association, Community Transport Organisation, and the Local Government and Shires Association.

Service Planning Guidelines for Outer Metropolitan Contract Regions are currently being prepared and will be made available on the website shortly.
