Upcoming Procurement Activity: 131500 Call Centre and Web Site
In partnership with other agencies in the Transport Portfolio, NSW Ministry of Transport provides a range of Integrated Transport Information Services to the public. These services are accessed via the 131500 call centre, and via the www.131500.info web site. Since 1999, the call centre and web site services have been provided under a services contract with Stellar Call Centres.
During the life of the contract, a number of changes have been made to improve the services offered to the public. However, a number of recent reviews have indicated the need for further significant enhancements to the service to keep abreast of public expectations and take advantage of new information capabilities and the diversity of information and communication channels now available, amongst other things.
With this in mind, and consistent with NSW Government policy, the Ministry of Transport has established the Integrated Transport Information Services (ITIS) Procurement Project to undertake the specification, tendering and transitioning activities necessary to ensure the continuity of these services to the public, and provide a suitable platform for implementation of the next generation of Integrated Transport Information Services for the people of NSW.
The Ministry will work in concert with the NSW Department of Commerce to undertake any necessary procurement activities. Interested vendors may wish to register on the NSW Government Tenders website and review the information available there about NSW Government tendering procedures and requirements. You can access the site at:
Please note that there is no specific information about the ITIS Procurement Project available at the NSW Government Tenders website at this time.
If you would like to contact the ITIS Procurement Project, please do so in the first instance be email at:
ITISprocurement@transport.nsw.gov.au
Please note that there is no information available at this stage relating to the Ministry's requirements for the ITIS services. Such information will only be released in the context of the formal procurement activities.
Specialist service and solution suppliers with a capability that they believe may have some benefit in the further development of 131500 services may make contact with the Ministry via the above-mentioned email address.
It is entirely at the discretion of the Ministry of Transport whether this contact is acknowledged or followed up. However, all organisations who make contact will be added to an email mailing list to be notified when the Ministry's procurement arrangements have been finalised. To this end, please ensure that a return email address is included in any message sent to this address.
The Ministry may take account of the features of available product or service offerings in framing its requirements for any future procurement activities. In particular, the Ministry reserves the right to incorporate (or not to incorporate) any service or product features into its published requirements without consultation with vendors whose products may or may not offer those features.
Given this, suppliers should consider carefully the extent to which they wish to disclose particular product or service features to the Ministry in any pre-tender discussions.
