Region 11 Bus Network Review

A new bus network for the Sutherland Shire

NSW Transport and Infrastructure and Veolia Transport are pleased to announce that following community consultation, the final stage of the new bus network for Sutherland will be introduced on 21 September 2009.

As part of the NSW Government's bus reform, Veolia has a contractual arrangement to provide bus services in this area. Working closely with NSW Transport and Infrastructure, Veolia has developed a new bus network that will provide fast, frequent and direct services to major centres such as Miranda whilst maintaining links to employment, educational and recreational facilities.

After extensive community consultation and consideration of all feedback, stage one of Region 11 was implemented on 23 March, 2009. The final stage will be introduced on 21 September 2009.

New timetables will be available from 21 September 2009 and advertisements will be placed in local papers.

Timetable information and a detailed map will be available shortly on www.131500.com.au.

Network performance and passenger feedback will be closely monitored for the first six months of operation. An annual service review is then carried out each year. Click here to be added to our database.

The new bus network introduces changes which allow customers across the whole community to access a greater number of bus transport options including:

  • A full time 7 days per week direct service to Hurstville from Cronulla and Caringbah.
  • A Monday to Saturday daytime connection to Sutherland from Cronulla and Caringbah and Sunday connections to Sutherland from Caringbah.
  • Improved connections from Lilli Pilli to Miranda.
  • Routes 977 and 978 operating 7 days per week.
