Travel Concessions for Infants and Pre-school Age Children
Eligibility
- Children under 4 years of age are eligible for free travel (when accompanied by a paying adult) on government rail and ferry services and all metropolitan Sydney and outer metropolitan bus services. (See Recent Changes in NSW Public Transport Concessions for more information).
- Children under 3 years of age are entitled to travel free (when accompanied by a paying adult) on privately operated bus services in rural and regional areas and free travel on privately operated ferry services across NSW.
Note: Children and young people aged between:
- 4 and 16 years on government rail and ferry services and all metropolitan Sydney and outer metropolitan bus services; and
- 3 and 15 years on privately operated bus services in rural and regional areas and free travel on privately operated ferry services;
are entitled to a half or "child" fare. See the section on concessions for young people under 16.
