Travel Concessions for NSW Seniors Card Holders

Eligibility

Australian citizens or permanent residents living in NSW who meet the NSW Department of Ageing, Disabilities and Home Care (DADHC) eligibility criteria for a Seniors Card. That is: they are over 60 years of age and not substantially employed (defined as 20 hours a week or less).

Note: Concession entitlements are not available on special or premium services, charter, Special event or tourism services.

* A concession station access fee is payable.

** The entitlement is to a concession fare on these services.

*** The Excursion ticket is available on private ferry services for registered local residents who use the ferry as their entry point to the metropolitan/outer-metropolitan public transport network.

Proof of eligibility

Eligible seniors must carry their NSW Seniors Card to prove their eligibility for a public transport concession.

Where to get a card/replacement card

NSW Seniors Card Cards are issued by the Seniors Card Scheme.

Application forms are available from local council offices, local MP's offices, ANZ bank branches or from the internet at http://www.seniorscard.nsw.gov.au.

Completed applications are to be posted to Seniors Card Scheme, Security Mailing Services, Locked Mail Bag No. 16, Kingsgrove NSW 2208.

Replacement cards are issued by the Seniors Card Scheme (telephone 1300 364 758).

Period of validity

The Seniors Card has no expiry date.

Fees

No fees apply for the issue of the Seniors Card or replacement cards.
