Children and young people between 4 and 16 years of age travelling on government rail and ferry services and/or on all metropolitan Sydney and outer metropolitan bus services are not required to carry identification to be entitled to a half fare concession. However, young people who look older than 15 may use the NSW Proof of Age Card to prove their eligibility for a concession fare.
Note: Private bus services in rural and regional areas and private ferry services may use this card or have different proof of eligibility requirements. Check with the operator for more information about proof of eligibility requirements on these services.
