Integrated ticketing

The NSW Government is committed to delivering an integrated electronic ticketing system for greater Sydney, recognising that cashless ticketing is an important initiative for customers who use public transport.

The delivery of a fast, convenient and sustainable system is being managed by the Public Transport Ticketing Corporation (PTTC), part of Transport for NSW.

The PTTC has signed a contract with Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited who will lead the Pearl Consortium to deliver, operate and maintain the new ticketing system. It will begin to be rolled out by late 2012. The other consortium members are Downer EDI Engineering Power Pty Ltd, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, EPay Australia Ltd and Parkeon Pty Ltd.
