Ports national forums
Freight & Regional Development staff represent NSW on a number of national forums as detailed below.
National Plan Management Committee
The National Plan Management Committee
(NPMC) provides strategic management of the National Plan to Combat Pollution of the Sea by Oil and other Noxious Substances
(National Plan). The committee ensures governments and industry work together to coordinate an effective framework for responding to marine pollution incidents which maximises Australia’s preparedness.
Freight & Regional Development also represents the interests of NSW on the National Plan Operations Group (NPOG) and is a member of the Environment Working Group of NPOG.
Ports Australia
Ports Australia is the peak body representing the interests of port and marine authorities in Australia. All Government owned ports, some privatised ports, and most state marine regulatory authorities are members of Ports Australia.
Ports Australia utilises the management and technical expertise of its members, particularly through a number of working groups. The Freight & Regional Development Division is a member of Ports Australia and provides representation on four of the working groups.
