Concession fares under MyZone
Under MyZone, concession entitlements remain the same or similar to previous arrangements, although some ticket products or prices may have changed. From 1 July 2011, the MyMulti tickets, the Pensioner Excursion Ticket and Family Funday Sunday have been available for use on light rail. These tickets are not sold on light rail and must be purchased before boarding. See the Buying Tickets page
. Entitlements and ticket products will remain the same on services not covered by the MyZone structure, such as private ferries, monorail and CountryLink services.
Half fare concessions are available on all MyZone ticket products (excepting MyTrain off-peak return and monthly, quarterly and yearly MyMulti products).

Proof of eligibility
- The student concession card available to mature age secondary students is the NSW Tertiary Student Concession Card. The student must carry their card at all times when travelling at concession fare, and produce it if a Transport Officer requests verification of the entitlement.
- A school student identification card issued by a school, or a Home School certificate issued by the Board of Studies, cannot be used in lieu of a transport concession card. The concession entitlement is not available to full fee paying overseas students.
- The former Student Omnibus Concession Fare Certificate (or other card previously issued or recognised by a local bus operator), has now been replaced by the NSW Tertiary Student Concession Card for mature aged secondary students. For further information, see Recent Changes.
Mature age secondary student card
The NSW Tertiary Student Concession Card, with a concession foil sticker, is the standard transport concession card for tertiary students.

Where to apply
- Concession cards are generally issued by the school the student attends. No form is required.
- Home school students must apply to the RailCorp Passes and Concessions Office and provide a copy of their certificate of registration issued by the NSW Board of Studies showing their year of study and their course load.
- Applications from school students during vacation periods can be made to the RailCorp Passes and Concessions Office. Applications will need to be supported by proof of identity, age, and the school in which they are enrolled.
- All replacement cards are issued by the RailCorp Passes and Concessions Office on payment of the prescribed fee.
- Forms are required for all applications made to RailCorp for both initial cards and replacement cards. Download application form or obtain a copy from the school or from the RailCorp Passes and Concessions Office. Applications can be delivered in person or sent by mail or email to RailCorp’s Passes and Concessions Office, provided the necessary proof of identity, and for home school students, a copy of their certificate of registration with the NSW Board of Studies, are attached.

There is no fee for the initial card issued, whether issued by a school or RailCorp. For replacement cards, a fee applies. See Clause 231 of the CityRail Passenger Fare Handbook
