The Asset Standards Authority (ASA) is an independent unit within Transport and is the network design and standards authority for the state’s transport assets.
The ASA develops the engineering governance and frameworks to support industry delivery in assurance of design, safety, integrity, construction and commissioning of transport assets for the whole asset life cycle.
It is also responsible for providing the standards for NSW transport assets, which industry organisations can use to deliver projects and manage assets in a more, innovative, safe and efficient manner.
Regular and effective engagement with industry and key stakeholders allows the ASA to determine future transport trends and develop capabilities, while establishing collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships between Transport for NSW and industry.
The ASA is governed by a Charter which outlines the roles and responsibilities of the ASA.
