Government-owned Services
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) regulates fares on government-owned transport services (RailCorp train services, State Transit bus and ferry services, and Sydney Ferries services).

Privately-owned Services
IPART also makes recommendations about private bus, ferry and taxi fare adjustments to further align the annual fare setting process between Government-owned and private operators.
