Boost to senior executive team at Transport for NSW

The senior executive team at Transport for NSW has been further strengthened, with the appointment of two more high-quality candidates as deputy directors general.

Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Roads Duncan Gay said the new deputy directors general would take charge of the new divisions of Planning and Programs and Policy and Regulation, established as part of the new integrated transport authority.

Carolyn McNally, currently general manager in the Commonwealth’s Department of Human Services, will head Planning and Programs, and Tim Reardon, now a strategic adviser in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu’s economics and infrastructure advisory group, will head Policy and Regulation.

Ms McNally previously held the position of executive director in the infrastructure investment division of the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure and Transport where she oversaw $36 billion in road and rail funding and managed major infrastructure policy.

“Ms McNally has a comprehensive knowledge of investment strategies and administration of major programs of work,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Mr Reardon has extensive Government and private sector experience in NSW, Queensland and overseas.

He has established a strong reputation in NSW, with previous senior roles in the Department of Transport – as director of rail policy, manager of transport integration, and as senior policy adviser for industry reform.

“Under Mr Reardon’s leadership, the policy and regulation division will drive strategic policy for the transport portfolio and shape the NSW contribution to the national agenda,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Mr Gay said it was gratifying to have such an impressive team to take the new integrated transport authority forward.

“I expect the new deputy directors general to hit the ground running, as we move ahead with greater integration across transport and a strong focus on the customer in everything we do,” he said.

Three other new deputy directors general have already been announced.
