Customer-friendly transport information now available

The new, updated NSW Transport Info app is now available for free download on iPhone and Android smartphone platforms.

This updated, free app gives customers access to more information about their journey than has ever been available before.

"The Transport Info app is now even easier to use, providing up-to-the-minute information on bus, rail and ferry services," a Transport for NSW spokesperson said.

"Anyone with a smartphone or tablet computer - including iPhones and iPads - can download it for free.

"This official app is the only multi-modal, free app that updates public transport information around the clock for Sydney"

With this new, updated app, customers can:

• plan a trip and view a map of their journey;
• find their next bus, train or ferry from any location, and save favourite locations and trips for quick access;
• view information including details about service changes; and
• view wheelchair-accessible trips.

The spokesperson said the app now has a name which can be easily searched – ‘Transport Info’ - and includes improvements not available before, such as:

• faster loading maps with an improved zoom function;
• a quicker search function;
• a simpler layout with easier to read trip information;
• trip planning showing exact train platforms;
• a one-tap function to reverse trip plans;
• easier to save favourite trips;
• easy-to-see service change information for favourite trips or locations; and
• previously visited maps can be now viewed offline.

"The app includes a built-in GPS function which can quickly pinpoint your location and direct you to your nearest public transport," the spokesperson said.

"Transport for NSW has been working hard over recent months to make the app more user-friendly.

"The app is designed to make travelling in Sydney easier for our customers and is the first of many new customer-friendly initiatives we hope to introduce."
