Project overview

The NSW Government has improved accessibility at Narrabri Station as part of the Transport Access Program, an initiative of the NSW Government to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering modern, safe and accessible infrastructure.

The project has provided a station precinct that is accessible to people with a disability, limited mobility, parents/carers with prams and customers with luggage.

The station was open to public in December 2022 and minor finishing works, including platform resurfacing, are due to be completed by end of April 2024.

Key benefits

  • removal of existing ramp to create an accessible path from the car park
  • one accessible car space
  • a formalised bus stop with a vehicle turning path
  • modifications to the waiting room
  • a new family accessible toilet
  • upgraded platform seating
  • a new boarding zone and tactile indicators on the platform
  • improvements to wayfinding and lighting.
