Published

The Maritime Union of Australia is conducting Protected Industrial Action in relation to Birdon Vehicular Ferries, the contractor operating on behalf of Transport for NSW.

Ferry services will be impacted on Thursday 25 January between 2pm and 5pm.

Emergency services needing to cross the river will not be affected by the disruption and will be able to cross.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use services outside of these hours or to detour north to Lower Portland Ferry which will add approximately 20 minutes to journey times.

Motorists on the western side of the river will need to detour via Western Portland Road and motorists on the eastern side of the river will need to detour via River Road to reach Lower Portland Ferry.

Motorists can also choose to take a detour to the south, adding around 50 minutes to journey times to reach Windsor.

Motorists on the western side of the river may detour via Sackville Road and motorists on the eastern side of the river can detour via Sackville Ferry Road, Wisemans Ferry Road and Cattai Road.
