Changed traffic conditions on the Hume Motorway between Narellan Road and Menangle Road Overpass Bridge.

Published

There will be changed traffic conditions from Sunday 24 March to Tuesday 23 April along the Hume Motorway between Narellan Road and Menangle Road overpass bridge.

Work will involve asphalting and line-marking on the Hume Motorway and installation of safety barriers and anti-throw screens on the bridge link over the Hume Motorway. Work will be undertaken over 18-night shifts, weather permitting. The work will take place between 7pm and 5am each shift.

Over size over mass vehicles that are beyond 3.8 metres wide will be directed to temporarily park in a dedicated space on the Hume Motorway until they’re assisted by traffic controllers back onto the motorway to safely continue their journey. During night work when the northbound carriageway is closed, over size over mass vehicles will need to wait, and won’t be able to use the Dust Bowl as a layover area while this work is undertaken.

A 4.5-kilometre contraflow will be in place to enable the closure of one carriageway each night with traffic control managing traffic in both directions and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h in place for the safety of workers and road users. Please allow for additional travel time during these hours as motorists may need to stop on the Hume Motorway for up to five minutes.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and to follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
