Changed traffic conditions on Rainbow Street, Randwick

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from Sunday, 7 April on Rainbow Street, Randwick.

These changes are necessary to repair stretches of deteriorated road surface along Rainbow Street, between between Harbourne Road and Avoca Street, to create a smoother road surface. 

Work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am from Sunday 7 April to Thursday 11 April for four shifts, weather and worksite conditions permitting. These dates are subject to change. Work will not be carried out on Saturdays or public holidays.

A road closure, traffic controls and reduced speed limits will be in place for the safety of pedestrians, workers, and motorists. Detours will be in place as follows:

  • Northbound detour via Anzac Parade, Barker Street and Avoca Street
  • Southbound detour via Avoca Street and Anzac Parade

Advance Warning Variable Message Signs (VMS) will advise exact road closure dates in advance and detours will be sign-posted. Dates are subject to change and are dependent on weather. 

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
