Passengers urged to plan ahead with Rail Repair Plan Trackwork on Olympic Park Line

Published

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 4-5 November, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork will take place on parts of the T1 Western, T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown, T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and T7 Olympic Park Lines.

Those heading to the Sydney Olympic Park precinct for the Sam Smith concert, NBL or other events, are advised that buses replace trains on the following lines:

  • On the T1 Western Line, between Parramatta and Olympic Park.
  • On the T2 Inner West & Leppington Line, between Merrylands and Olympic Park.
  • On the T3 Bankstown Line, between Olympic Park, Lidcombe and Bankstown.
  • On the T7 Olympic Park Line, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Parramatta, Merrylands and Bankstown.

Western Sydney passengers heading to and from the city may consider parking their car at a paid carpark at Sydney Olympic Park. Trains are running all weekend between Olympic Park and the city, and this may be a quicker option than catching replacement buses.

Also this weekend, on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line:

  • Buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
  • On Saturday from 11.30pm to 2am, buses also replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Hurstville.

Sydney Trains will have more than 700 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove around 45 high-priority defects.

Passengers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
