Plan your trip for an eggs-traordinary Easter Show experience

The Sydney Royal Easter Show will be held over 12 days from Friday 22 March until Tuesday 2 April at Sydney Olympic Park. Attendees heading to the Show should plan their trip on public transport, with big crowds expected to visit the show on weekends.

Transport for NSW Coordinator-General Howard Collins says Sydney Olympic Park is easily accessible by public transport and plenty of extra services will run each day of the event.

“Avoid the traffic delays and hop aboard one of our express trains or Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses to get you to the show and home again,” he said.

“The Show is being held outside of school holidays this year, so weekends are expected to be busy, particularly the Easter Long Weekend.”

“Plan your trip ahead of time and consider visiting on a weekday where possible to avoid the largest crowds.”

The closest station to the Sydney Royal Easter Show is Olympic Park, just a short walk to the Show's main entry gates.

Plenty of additional express and limited-stop trains will run each day throughout the Show to help you get there and home again.

Major event buses will run from the Northern Beaches, Inner West, Sutherland Shire, North Western Suburbs, Hills District and Southern Suburbs to Olympic Park and return each day of the Easter Show. All nine routes will run from early morning until around 3pm, with return buses leaving Olympic Park from 2pm until 10.30pm each night.

“Public transport to and from the Show is included in your ticket, so simply show your ticket to the driver or station attendant when you hop on,” says Howard Collins.

“We expect high demand for our major event buses, particularly over the Easter long weekend, so please allow plenty of travel time and be prepared to queue.”

If you must drive, it’s essential to pre-book parking online in advance to secure a space and allow plenty of extra time on the roads as traffic will be heavier than usual approaching Sydney Olympic Park.

Consider parking at a nearby station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train or bus to Olympic Park.

Other events will also be held at venues in the precinct during the Show on Saturday 23, Saturday 30 and Friday 29 April (Good Friday), and traffic is expected to be heavy on these days.

Trackwork will continue during the Show and may affect your trip by train or metro, depending on where you are travelling from, so plan before leaving home.

If you’re heading to the NRL Bulldogs v Rabbitohs clash on Good Friday at Accor Stadium, travel on transport is also included in your ticket.

If you’re attending concerts at Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday 23 and 30 March, remember to tap on and off transport services using an Opal card or contactless payment method.
