Rail Repair Plan Trackwork targets the City Circle this weekend
Passengers travelling on the City Circle are urged to plan ahead as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork takes place this weekend.
From 11pm on Friday and continuing all weekend, trains will not run on the City Circle.
Passengers are able to use the light rail which runs between Circular Quay, Wynyard and Central, and local buses are available.
Trackwork will also take place on parts of the T1 North Shore & Western, T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown, T5 Cumberland, T8 Airport & South and T9 Northern Lines, and passengers are advised to check their apps and transport.info for live advice on their service changes.
Sydney Trains will have around 800 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove 119 high-priority defects.
On the T1 Western Line, trains from Richmond run to Olympic Park only. Passengers will need to change trains at Lidcombe Station to continue their journey to Central.
On the T2 Inner West & Leppington and T5 Cumberland Lines, buses replace trains between Glenfield and Liverpool, and Inner West Line trains between Strathfield and Central.
Trains will run between Leppington, Glenfield and Central via the T8 Airport Line, and between Liverpool and Olympic Park only. Passengers should change trains at Lidcombe Station to continue their journey towards Central.
On the T3 Bankstown Line, from 10.40pm on Friday, trains run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Sydenham only.
On the T8 Airport & South Line, trains run between Macarthur and Sydenham only. Passengers travelling to Airport stations should change at Revesby.

Intercity Services
From 6.50pm Friday and continuing all weekend, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong on the South Coast Line.
Passengers should allow for extra travel time, plan using transportnsw.info or travel apps, and pay attention to station announcements.
