Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 11-12 May, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network.

From 9.30pm Friday and throughout the weekend, trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the city, passengers will need to use the light rail between Central and Circular Quay, or local bus services. There are extra CBD light rail services running between 7am and 7pm across the weekend.

T4 trains will continue to run between Central and Bondi Junction, stopping at Town Hall, Martin Place and Kings Cross.

On the T1 North Shore Line, from 9.30pm on Friday night and throughout the weekend, buses replace trains between North Sydney and Wynyard.

On the T1 Western, T2 Leppington and T9 Northern Lines this weekend, there are short periods where express buses replace trains from Central to Strathfield. If you’re travelling in that direction on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night, please check trip planning apps and plan your journey.

Early on Saturday morning, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown on both the T1 Western and T5 Cumberland lines.

On the T2, buses replace trains between Ashfield and Central on Friday night and throughout the weekend.

On the T2 and T5, buses also replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield from 5.50am Saturday until 6pm Sunday.

Sydney Trains will have around 870 workers carrying out a significant amount of work over this period, including Sydney Harbour Bridge decking, track reconditioning, turnout renewal and rerailing works.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
