Weekend Rail Repair Plan Trackwork

Published

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this Easter long weekend, 29 March – 1 April, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network.

From Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April buses will replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland, and between Central and Bondi Junction on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line for project and maintenance works.

On Sunday only, between 8.40am to 3pm, buses will replace the all-stations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby on the T8 Airport & South Line for essential maintenance works.

For those travelling to the Sydney Showground for the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the closest station is Olympic Park. From there it’s just a short walk to the Show's main entry gates.

There are 580 additional express and limited-stop train services which will run across the long weekend to help you get there and home again. More information on other transport options can be found here.

Sydney Trains will have around 1,071 workers undertaking a significant amount of work over this period including resleepering, ballast cleaning, bridge refurbishment, turnout renewals, track reconstruction as well as removing 21 high-priority defects.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
