Secretary of Transport for NSW, Tim Reardon today announced the Chief Executive of State Transit, Peter Rowley will leave the position.
Mr Rowley has had more than 40 years with State Transit, starting work as a clerk in 1976.
He has held a number of senior roles over those years and played a key part in coordination of buses for the Sydney Olympics. Mr Rowley has been Chief Executive since 2008, and leaves the organisation with solid record of performance for punctuality, safety and increasing customer satisfaction.
“Peter recently kicked off a major reform of State Transit designed to streamline back office functions, and refocus the organisation on delivering the best services for its customers,” Mr Reardon said.
“With a new State Transit operating model now being established, the time is right for new leadership.
“We thank Peter for his dedication to the delivery of safe and reliable bus services for customers.”
The role of Chief Executive will be filled in the interim by Mr Lindsay Lee while a recruitment process for a new Chief Executive is undertaken.
