Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey has asked motorists to take extra care on Sydney roads today, with significant closures due to extreme weather.
The roads most affected by the storm include the Anzac Bridge, where motorists are experiencing significant delays due to flooding, Parramatta Road near Flood Street in Leichhardt and James Ruse Drive near Pennant Hills Road.
“I urge motorists to consider if they need to drive, and delay their trip if possible,” Ms Pavey said.
“Please stay safe in this wild weather, and keep an eye on livetraffic.com for updates on road closures throughout the day.”
Transport for NSW Coordinator General Marg Prendergast said motorists should avoid the Anzac Bridge, Parramatta Road and James Ruse Drive.
“Bus passengers should also allow extra travel time as there are delays across the CBD, Rozelle and Drummoyne due to the flooding,” Ms Prendergast said.
“Anyone on the road should take care as there are a number of traffic signals out across the Sydney area.
