Upcoming works across Sydney’s road network

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge from tonight for maintenance and Warringah Freeway Upgrade works.

Warringah Freeway Upgrade

From 10pm on Friday 30 June, the Warringah Freeway southbound traffic lanes to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, between Ridge Street and High Street at North Sydney, will be shifted approximately seven metres to the west.

The southbound over-height vehicle processing lane on approach to the Sydney Harbour Tunnel will also be slightly shortened (by around 40 metres).

The temporary traffic changes are expected to be in place for around 12 months. However, motorists are not expected to experience delays due to this change.

Motorists are asked to drive with caution through the area and keep to the reduced speed limits.

Meanwhile, motorists are advised three northbound lanes on the Warringah Freeway, and the northbound Falcon Street off-ramp left turn lanes at North Sydney, will be temporarily closed between 9pm and 5am on Tuesday 4 July and Wednesday 5 July.

The right turn bus lane on the off-ramp will be maintained.

A detour for general traffic will be in place via the Warringah Freeway Miller Street exit. Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.

For more information about the project, visit the Warringah Freeway Upgrade website.

The Sydney Harbour Tunnel will be closed northbound on Monday 3 July from 11.30pm to 4.30am and closed southbound on Tuesday 4 July from 11.30pm to 4.30am for maintenance work. Motorists can detour over the Sydney Harbour Bridge during these times.

Please drive carefully and follow the directions of signs and traffic crews.

Rozelle Interchange

From 5am Wednesday 5 July, one of the eastbound left turning lanes from Johnston Street to head north on The Crescent at Annandale will be temporarily closed. The lane will be closed for up to two months to facilitate final stages of construction for the Crescent Overpass, as part of the Rozelle Interchange project. A partial lane closure will also be in place on The Crescent near Link Road during this time.

All through traffic will be maintained, however motorists should expect some delays when travelling in the area during the morning and afternoon peak traffic times. Please allow extra travel time and follow the signs.
