Rolling Stock registration
Why register?
The rolling stock registration process is for contractors or third-party operators of rolling stock and plant to ensure that their machinery is approved to use on TCA worksites.
Infrastructure maintenance rolling stock and plant is not permitted to travel or operate on TCA-managed and controlled rail sites without the authority of the TCA General Manager Engineering, or his nominated representative.
Operating approval includes formal written advice of vehicle acceptance and registration (demonstrated by the Certification sticker), the issue of an operating exemption notice or an operating waiver.
All infrastructure maintenance vehicles must have their ownership, technical details, certification and approval recorded on a TCA-owned vehicle register, to indicate that the vehicle has met TCA acceptance requirements and is authorised to operate on TCA-managed rail infrastructure in accordance with TCA Worksite Operating Conditions.
