Journey to Work (JTW) Data
TDC's employment and workforce statistics for New South Wales are derived from the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) Census of Population and Housing. TDC makes significant enhancements to this dataset to produce its own TDC Journey to Work (JTW) data.
The JTW data are held in the form of detailed tables for 2006, 2001, 1996, 1991 and 1981. Less detailed information is also available back to 1966. Each table has a different combination of variables. Some are at the travel zone level and some at the SLA level only. The variables and geographic level available for each table is determined by the information most commonly used by TDC stakeholders and that which satisfy ABS restrictions on table size. These variables may vary from year to year and are listed below for each year that data is available. The 2006 JTW data is progressively being released.
As per TDC's new pricing policy, registered users are entitled to JTW tables.

* GMA is the Greater Metropolitan Area which includes Sydney and Illawarra Statistical Divisions and the Newcastle Statistical Sub-Division. It extends from Port Stephens in the north to Shoalhaven in the south and the Blue Mountains in the west. Expanded GMA includes areas around the GMA. This is useful for analysis of cross-GMA border trips. These areas are clearly identified from the codes.
