2006 Household Travel Survey Data

The 2006 HTS data has been released. Summary statistics on the travel patterns of Sydney residents are available for free (in PDF and Excel formats). The full report which features further analysis and discussion with graphical illustrations is now also available. Download full report - 394 kb PDF.

Summary 2005 transport statistics by Statistical Local Area (SLA)

Travel statistics by Statistical Local Area (SLA) in the Sydney Greater Metropolitan Area are provided for use by local governments. Available information includes (a) number of trips by purpose and mode, (b) total distance travelled, (c) vehicle kilometres travelled (VKT) (d) travel per capita and (e) average number of vehicles in the household.

2006 Employment and Commuting (April 2008 Transfigures) - 257 kb PDF

This publication summarises selected information from the 2006 Census on employment, industry and commuting patterns in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Sydney (GMA). It contains an overview of employment growth across the GMA, analysis of employment distribution, industry structure and mode of travel for each of the major regions of Sydney, the Lower Hunter and Illawarra.

This publication presents summary information about the travel of residents of the Greater Metropolitan Area (GMA) of Sydney with comparative data for the three different areas. The data is based on the latest 2005 estimates produced from the Transport Data Centre's continuous Household Travel Survey.
