Applying for 4WD Tour Operator Accreditation
Operators must only use vehicles that comply with the Australian Design Standards for 'Off-road Passenger Vehicles' (also known as "MC" vehicles).
It is also a requirement of the Act that an accredited operator must comply with the conditions of accreditation, as prescribed by Regulation or by the Director-General of the Ministry of Transport in order to remain accredited.
Accreditation conditions may be varied from time to time, and accredited operators must comply with any new accreditation conditions, whether prescribed by Regulation or by the Director-General.
