Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme Docket Scheme
The way that eligible people can use the TTSS scheme is by using NSW travel dockets to substitute for part of the taxi fare. Once approval for acceptance to the scheme is granted you will be issued with a book of travel dockets.
A summary of some of the conditions of use for travel dockets is contained below:
- Travel dockets must only be used by the TTSS participant whose name appears on the docket (the taxi driver may ask you for proof of identification, and you can use anything that establishes your identity like a pension card, bankcard or Medicare card).
- Subsidies are limited to 50% of the metered fare up to a maximum
of $30 subsidy per trip (half of the $60 metered fare).
For example:
If the metered fare is $40, you can use a travel docket for $20 of the total and pay the other $20 yourself
If the metered fare is $70, you can use a travel docket for $30 of the total fare, and pay the other $40 yourself (the maximum subsidy per docket is $30). - Any portion of the fare over $60 is to be paid by the participant. Only one travel docket can be used per single journey.
- Travel dockets need to be full completed, wherever possible participants must complete all relevant sections.
- If a participant is unable to sign a docket, a carer or guardian can sign on their behalf. The persons relationship to the participant should be recorded.
- If a participant is alone and unable to sign the docket, the taxi driver can complete the signature as P.U.T.S. (person unable to sign).
- If you run out of TTSS dockets and pay for the taxi fare yourself, the NSW Ministry of Transport will not reimburse you.
- Over time the style of your TTSS dockets may change, but the dockets do not expire.
- Scheme members must undertake actual travel whenever utilising dockets. It is an offence for both drivers and/or scheme participants to use or accept TTSS dockets if passenger travel is not undertaken.
More detailed information on the use and replenishment of travel dockets will be provided if you are accepted into the scheme.
