Project overview

The NSW Government has improved accessibility at Wahroonga Station.

The upgrade was delivered as part of the Transport Access Program, an initiative to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure across the state.

Key benefits

  • new lift connecting the platforms to the existing footbridge
  • a new accessible ramp and walkway between the station and Wahroonga Shopping Village
  • refurbishment of the Redleaf Avenue Bridge and new pedestrian footbridge
  • a new family accessible toilet and unisex ambulant toilet
  • a new canopy for the Platform 1 Boarding Assistance Zone
  • new accessible parking spaces
  • five new bike parking hoops
  • safety and security upgrades including lighting and CCTV security

Transport working in partnership with Ku-ring-gai Council have carried out the work to repair and resurface the existing Wahroonga Village laneway.

Project Status

Wahroonga Station upgrade is complete, and the station is now accessible allowing for safer, easier and more convenient travel for all customers. Customers are able to use the station's new lift and improved accessibility features.

Project history

The Wahroonga Station Upgrade Review of Environmental Factors was on public display between 3 December and 17 December 2019, with 40 submissions received from the community.

Each submission was considered by the project team and responded to in the project Determination Report (PDF, 15.29 MB).
