Green Light Day 2019

The transport and logistics industry is growing rapidly to support the expansion of the national freight task which is expected to double over the next 20 years.

Green Light Day aims to encourage secondary students who are considering their career options to think about the range of roles on offer in transport and logistics. It is supported by TAFE NSW, Transport for NSW, the NSW Department of Education and industry partners. An annual event, in 2019, it is being held on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd October.

Transport industries are responsible for moving freight (and passengers) by air, road, rail and water. Logistics, sometimes referred to as the ‘supply chain’, is about the systems in place to make this movement possible.

More than 500,000 people - almost 14 per cent of the NSW workforce - are employed in transport and logistics.

Participating students are able to see and experience first-hand some of the exciting career paths the Transport and Logistic industries have to offer at five venues across Sydney and in Regional NSW. Key industry speakers will be present to answer questions, give advice and share their career stories.
