When are they happening?
Depot Open Days happen at selected depots around Sydney.
At an Open Day you will join us for an information session, a tour of the Depot and if you are interested in the position you will be asked to sit an interview and complete some other assessment activities.

What to expect on the day
Meet and Greet
Come along and get insight into the life of a bus driver. Find out more about the role and speak to State Transit staff.
(1.5 hours)
Get in the fast lane to becoming a bus driver
If you like what you hear, our friendly recruitment staff will be there to help get your application underway.
This involves an online application, a series of mini assessments and an interview to ensure that this is the right job for you.
(Approx. 2 hours)
What to bring with you
Driver’s Licence
Don’t worry if you only have a C class licence, State Transit will upgrade you to a licence that allows you to drive a bus.
Driving History
You can get this online or by visiting a NSW Service Centre in person (charges apply). This needs to have been completed within the last 4 weeks before you apply.
Driver Authority Card
This only applies if you’re already a qualified bus driver or private hire vehicle driver.
Proof of Permanent Residency
e.g. Australian or New Zealand passport, original Australian birth certificate, original Australian Citizenship certificate, or other evidence of entitlement to work in Australia.
