Using technology and data-driven decision making, this strategy empowers place owners, industry and government agencies across NSW to deliver smart places.

About the strategy

In 2020, the NSW Government became the first, and still only, state government to release a smart places strategy.

The 2020 vision was to deliver outcomes for citizens and businesses by applying a consistent, seamless, placed-based approach to smart places implementation in NSW.

In 2022, the NSW Government developed the SmartNSW Roadmap 2022-2027 to outline the next steps towards a SmartNSW.
