Our 85th Anniversary
Our 85th anniversary
2018 marked 85 years of Sydney buses, and to celebrate we decked out 12 State Transit buses in historic markings that customers could catch.
The first government bus ran in 1932. On Christmas Day, thousands of people tried out the new Route 144 from Cremorne Junction to Manly.
These 12 buses captured special moments in Sydney and State Transit’s history, from the camouflage buses used in 1942 to transport troops along the coastline to the commemorative buses for Queen Elizabeth’s first trip to Australia, the 1988 Bicentenary celebration and Sydney Olympic themed buses in the nineties.
These buses ran throughout routes in Sydney.
