Tony Eid appointed new CEO of State Transit
Tony Eid has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of State Transit.
Tony was previously Executive Director of Future Network Delivery (FND) at Sydney Trains. Tony’s passion and vision for the industry was channelled into FND, where he drove the integration of the future rail network projects through effective planning, successful program delivery, collaborative engagement and business readiness, allowing the operating directorates to manage day-to-day activities while change to operating practices are embedded into BAU.
Tony was also responsible for delivering the state-of-the-art Rail Operations Centre. His rail career spans four decades where he gained extensive experience in operations, signalling, planning and incident management.
As CEO, Tony has spent much of his time getting to know State Transit’s staff and customers.
“I’ve had a warm welcome from everyone, from our front line staff right through to the back office. I get a true sense of family at State Transit,” Tony said.
“I’ve also been encouraged by the quality and frequency of bus services we provide for the community. I’ve quickly learnt how many customers rely on our public transport services every day.”
Tony has made it clear his key focus in his role will be caring for his 3,400 strong workforce and on the day-to-day running on the buses through service reliability, quality customer service and clean and well-maintained buses and depots.
