Changed traffic conditions for the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel, and their approaches this week for maintenance and Warringah Freeway upgrade works.

The Warringah Freeway reversible carriageway will be closed between the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Miller Street Bridge in Cammeray from 10pm Friday 3 February until 4.30am Monday 6 February. The reversible carriage way will be open to one lane northbound from 11am to 7pm on Saturday 4 February.

The northbound off-ramp to Ernest St from the reversible carriageway will also be closed during this time as major work continues in the Warringah Freeway northbound and southbound lanes between Falcon Street bridge, North Sydney and West Street bridge, Crows Nest.

The southbound outer carriageway and southbound inner carriageway, between Miller Street bridge and Falcon Street bridge, will be closed at alternating times on Saturday 4 February between 3am and 6am. There will be no southbound access to Military Road, North Sydney off ramps or the Sydney Harbour Tunnel during this time.

In addition, three lanes of the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed on Friday 3 February from 11pm to 6am for maintenance work.

Maintenance work will also be carried out in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel with closures as below.

  • Monday 6 February – 10.30pm to 5am
  • Tuesday 7 February – 10.30pm to 5am
  • Wednesday 8 February – 10.30pm to 5am
  • Thursday 9 February – 11pm to 5am

The Domain Tunnel will also be closed southbound on Tuesday 7 February from 11.30pm to 5am and closed northbound on Wednesday 8 February from 11.30pm to 5am.

Other changes across the Sydney road and transport network

Motorists are also advised Robey Street in Mascot, between Qantas Drive and O’Riordan Street, will be closed from 11pm Friday 3 to 4:30am Monday 6 February as part of the as part of the Botany Rail Duplication project being rolled out by ARTC.

Northbound lanes on O’Riordan Street between Robey Street and King Street will also be closed during this time. Access for local businesses will be maintained, and traffic controllers will be on site.

There will be no northbound access to Robey Street from Seventh Street for motorists exiting Sydney Domestic Airport. Motorists will be directed to turn either left or right into Qantas Drive.

Special event clearways will be in place on the western side of Botany Rd from 6am to 7pm each day. Additionally, there will be some changes to bus stops and routes and a special bus shuttle service will operate around the area.

Commuters are also reminded to plan ahead if they are travelling around the north shore and western Sydney as Sydney Trains carries out essential maintenance work.

From 2am Saturday 4 February to 2am Monday 6 February, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard on the T1 North Shore line. This will affect services on the T9 Northern line. Metro services are also not running between Tallawong and Chatswood.

On the T3 Bankstown line, from 2am Saturday 4 February to 2am Monday 6 February, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham. And nightly from 9.30pm to 1.30am Monday 6 to Thursday 9 February, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Sydenham.

On the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra line, nightly from 9.30pm to 1.30am Monday 6 to Thursday 9 February, buses replace trains between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe.
