Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel this week as maintenance is carried out overnight.

Up to five lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck will be closed overnight this week for maintenance and prep work for the NYE fireworks event.

Closures outlined below:

Mobile maintenance work will be carried out in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel overnight on Tuesday 20 December, Wednesday 21 December and again on Thursday 22 December from midnight to 5am. This will result in the intermittent closure of one northbound lane only.

Commuters are also reminded to plan ahead as Sydney Trains carries out safety critical trackwork between Central and Lidcombe this weekend.

Services on the T1 North Shore, T1 Western, T2 Inner West & Leppington, T8 Airport & South, and T9 Northern lines will run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern overnight on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Bus services will replace some trains and commuters may need to change trains to continue their journey.

Sydney Trains is also undertaking improvement works at Burwood Road Rail Bridge at Burwood Station from Friday 16 December to Monday 19 December.

Burwood Road will be temporarily closed to traffic, between Railway Parade and Railway Crescent nightly from 7pm to 9am.

Traffic controls and reduced speed limits will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
