Famous Sydney ferry views now accessible to the world on Google Street View
One of Sydney’s most sought-after public transport experiences is now available to people all around the world after Transport for NSW partnered with Google and Sydney ferries operator Transdev to capture 360-degree vision of the city’s most famous ferry routes.
Transport for NSW Chief Operations Officer Howard Collins said the partners worked together to capture 360-degree panoramic imagery to create two experiences.
“Virtual visitors can look inside and outside the ferry, docked at Circular Quay – and also take a trip on two of Sydney’s most celebrated ferry routes, Circular Quay to Manly and Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo. These experiences are available on Google Street View from today,” Mr Collins said.
“These famous routes give viewers the full experience of travelling on an iconic Sydney ferry on the glistening Sydney Harbour on a sunny afternoon.
“I hope the magnificent footage we’ve captured and the virtual reality experience of Google Street View, encourages both locals and visitors to Sydney to take a trip on a Sydney ferry and enjoy this one-of-a-kind public transport experience.”
