Footy fans urged to take alternative transport

Published

Ticketholders travelling to tonight’s NRL Rabbitohs v Sea Eagles clash at Accor Stadium are urged to make alternative transport arrangements to get to Sydney Olympic Park – particularly those travelling from the east.

Trains are not running between Lidcombe and Ashfield on the T1 Western Line and T2 Inner West & Leppington Line or between Rhodes and Strathfield on the T9 Northern Line due to urgent signal repairs at Homebush.

Shuttle services are being introduced across the network.

Customers travelling from the City, Central and Redfern can travel on the T3 Bankstown line and change at Lidcombe to get to Olympic Park Station but are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Customers travelling to Sydney Olympic Park from the T2 Inner West line between Macdonaldtown and Ashfield should consider making alternative arrangements.

Customers travelling to Sydney Olympic Park from the west and south-west will have limited direct services from Leppington and Penrith but are advised to allow for extra travel time.

Lidcombe to Olympic Park shuttles will still run as timetabled.

This is expected to impact the following services this evening:

  • T1 Western
  • T1 North Shore
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington
  • T3 Bankstown
  • T5 Cumberland
  • T8 Airport & South
  • T9 Northern Lines
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line services will terminate at Hornsby/Epping and return.

Passengers already on the network are advised to listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates as stopping patterns may change.
