Transport for NSW is inviting parents and supervisors of learner drivers to attend a road safety workshop in Gunnedah next week.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said the Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers workshop aims to help supervisors and parents make learning to drive a safe and positive experience.

Supervisors and parents play an important role in teaching and supporting young people learning to drive,” the spokesperson said.

“The workshop, hosted by Transport for NSW, will feature practical advice on teaching young people to drive.

“It will also cover current driving rules and requirements for L and P plates, how learner drivers benefit from supervised on-road driving, and how you can help make learning to drive a safe and positive experience.

“The Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers workshop will give supervisors and parents the chance to grow their knowledge in helping young drivers, ensuring safer journeys on our roads.”

The workshop will be held at Gunnedah PCYC from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 2 August, with refreshments provided.
