The community is invited to have a say on plans to extend and upgrade Rickard Road between Heath Road at Leppington and Springfield Road at Catherine Field.

Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves said the extension and upgrade of Rickard Road would support predicted growth in south west Sydney as well as improve connectivity to the South West Growth Area.

“The proposed upgrade would extend Rickard Road 7.1km south from Heath Road at Leppington to Springfield Road at Catherine Field,” Mr Sidgreaves said.

“The road will also be widened and extended to provide bus lanes in each direction and shared paths for cyclists and pedestrians.

“Upgrading and extending Rickard Road will provide significant benefits to the local community including improved safety and less congestion.”

“The project will also deliver public transport infrastructure for rapid and reliable bus links to Leppington Station and the new Town Centre.”

“The plans on display build on earlier strategic investigations done by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and Camden Council.”
In response to the evolving Coronavirus situation, Transport for NSW is following NSW Health advice and changing the way it approaches community consultation for important transport infrastructure projects.

To ensure the health and safety of the community and our staff, face to face community information sessions will be replaced with an online forum on the NSW Roads Facebook page.

The event will be held on Wednesday 17 June between 12pm and 1pm.

The community can also provide feedback to the project team by phone on 1800 318 222 or email at rickardroadupgrade@rms.nsw.gov.au until 3 July, 2020.
