Have your say on the upgrade along 6.53 kilometres of Mulgoa Road

Transport for NSW is planning to upgrade 6.53 kilometres of the Mulgoa Road corridor between Glenmore Parkway, Glenmore Park and Union Road, Penrith.

Mulgoa Road is a major north – south corridor that has around 2500 traffic movements per hour during the peak periods.

Planning is now in the final stages and Transport for NSW is seeking community input on a Review of Environmental Factors (REF).

The REF shows how we plan to manage issues such as stormwater management, noise and vegetation. It also outlines community benefits, including new shared use paths for pedestrians and cyclists and new bus infrastructure.

Transport for NSW encourages people to have their say.

While construction may see some temporary disruptions, major works are planned to avoid peak hour traffic, while also ensuring property access along the corridor is maintained.

The upgrade will complement other works including upgrades from Union Road to Museum Drive which is now open to traffic and construction along Mulgoa Road, Jamisontown which is expected to commence in late 2022.

This upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s wider commitment to improve traffic flows in and around Western Sydney to meet the needs of the growing community.

An estimated 500 jobs will be created throughout the construction period.

There will be two MS Teams live sessions from 4pm to 5pm on Wednesday 16 March 2022 and from 12 noon-1pm on Monday 21 March 2022. Registrations and feedback can be made through mulgoaroadupgrade@transport.nsw.gov.au. Feedback can also be provided via phone on 1800 733 084 until Sunday 3 April 2022.
