Road users and community members are encouraged to view the community consultation report on proposed changes to Hoxton Park Road to install two new dedicated bus-only lanes to reduce congestion.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said the NSW Government is planning to establish rapid bus services from the Liverpool town centre to Western Sydney International Airport before it opens in 2026 and also to Western Parkland City.

“To support this rapid bus service, Transport for NSW is planning to upgrade Hoxton Park Road to provide dedicated bus lanes between Banks Road at Miller and Cowpasture Road at West Hoxton,” the spokesperson said.

“The proposal will see two new lanes for general traffic while the existing kerb lanes will be converted into bus-only lanes and the shared path maintained.

“This proposal will provide greater flexibility for bus services and will have less impact on neighbouring properties and the community.

“The dedicated bus lanes will also help reduce congestion and improve journey times for motorists.

“The community was invited to have their say on the plan last year, and are now encouraged to view the response to submissions on the project.

“Issues raised by the community during the consultation period included access at the intersection of Hoxton Park Road and Dorrigo Avenue, and strong support for reliable and rapid public transport and the location of future bus stops.

“Feedback received has been considered and will assist in the development of the project’s concept design and environmental impact assessment.”

Transport for NSW will continue to engage with the community as investigations for the concept design are carried out.
