Plan ahead for Sydney’s Open for Lunch

Published

Commuters need to plan ahead if they are travelling through the Sydney CBD tomorrow as Sydney’s Open for Lunch kicks off.

Event-goers will enjoy a long lunch held along George Street on Friday 2 December from 12pm to 3pm which will feature Sydney’s best chefs and restaurants including Luke Mangan, Matt Moran, Anna Polyviou and more.

Commuters are reminded that from around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December until last service on Friday 2 December, light rail services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay.

Regular services will resume from first service on Saturday 3 December at 5am.

Buses and road traffic in the Sydney CBD will not be impacted during these times.

Those heading to the event in the Sydney CBD or at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Catch trains or walk to continue your trip.

Both event sites are within short walking distance of major train stations and bus interchanges:

  • George St between Park and Hunter streets, Sydney CBD: The closest transport hubs are Town Hall, QVB and Wynyard.
  • CommBank Stadium, Parramatta: The closest transport hub is Parramatta.
