Regular coach service for Goulburn to Sydney
A trial coach service between Goulburn and Sydney will become a regular timetabled service from July 1 in a boost for connections between the city and the bush.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the NSW TrainLink coach trial had been incredibly popular since it was launched in September 2018.
“Goulburn residents have thrown their support behind the trial and now they can enjoy a regular timetabled service giving the community more flexibility and choice when it comes to transport options to the city,” Mr Toole said.
“The NSW Government is committed to improving connectivity for regional communities.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman welcomed the security of a regular service on behalf of the community.
“The introduction of the trial gave locals another way to travel to and from Sydney. Whether it is to work, visit friends or family, attend medical appointments or enjoy a weekend away – the service is indispensable,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“I am delighted that the Sydney intercity service is now a regular fixture, and I encourage everyone to try the service.”
The NSW TrainLink coach services run in addition to existing train services.
Customers will travel direct between Goulburn and Campbelltown via coach, where they can connect with train services to and from Central station.
As Goulburn to Campbelltown is an intercity service, Opal fares will apply with customers tapping on and off at each end of the journey.
Mrs Tuckerman also confirmed the Goulburn to Canberra coach service has been extended for another three months, after which time it will be reviewed.
Customers can book seats on the coach service online at www.transportnsw.info/regional or by phoning NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32.
