Speed limit reduction along Ulan Road at Mudgee

Published

Motorists are advised to slow down through Mudgee with a speed limit reduction to soon take effect along Ulan Road.

Transport for NSW Director West, Alistair Lunn said the decision to reduce the speed limit from 80 km/h to 60 km/h would improve safety for all motorists, including residents who live along the impacted section of road.

“Following a comprehensive speed zone review by Transport for NSW, the speed limit along Ulan Road from 0.7 kilometres to 1.9 kilometres north of Short Street will be reduced for improved safety for all road users,” Mr Lunn said.

“This section contains intersections with Henry Lawson Drive and Moggs Lane and several driveways leading into residential properties, wineries and a conference centre which generate a significant volume of traffic.

“In addition, there are three unprotected large drains in the road through this section, crossing Lawson Creek over the Neville H Paine Bridge, several right-turn lanes heading south and some curves in the road.”

The speed zone reduction to 60 km/h comes into effect on Tuesday 2 May.
