Take a virtual journey and find out more about transport in NSW at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Published

Head to the fun and interactive Transport for NSW stand at the Sydney Royal Easter Show to learn about transport and road safety and interact with some of Australia’s largest transport projects, including Opal, North West Rail Link and WestConnex.

The Centre for Road Safety section of Transport’s stand will be jam-packed with information to help keep you and your family safe on our roads. Every day, an expert child car seat fitter will be on-hand to help you understand how to pick the right car seat for your child’s age and size and how to fit and use it correctly.

You’ll also be able to take the Tired Test to help you understand the dangers of fatigue and get tips on how to avoid driving tired, and see just how much that visit to the showbag hall took out of you!

Thanks to a green screen technology, the Maritime Management Centre will be inviting keen ‘boaties’ to take a virtual trip to a number of marine locations, including Sydney Harbour and an idyllic tropical island, and they could win some great prizes.

The North West Rail Link invites show goers to take a 3D animated virtual tour to experience what it’s like to ‘walk through’ one of the mega tunnelling machines working deep underground Sydney’s north west on Australia’s largest public transport project.

There will also be the latest information about where light rail will be taking customers across Sydney and the billion-dollar WestConnex project.

At the stand you can also find Transport merchandise for sale. Take home a little piece of Sydney’s transport history with products featuring iconic vintage vehicles, vintage advertising, ticketing and more from the 1930s to the 1980s.

You can also get an Adult or Child/Youth Opal card at the stand, or apply for the Gold Opal for seniors and pensioners.

Customers buying ShowLink tickets for this year’s Easter Show can buy them online or at a Woolworths store. These tickets can be used as a flash pass for public transport to and from the show.
