Sydney CBD to Parramatta Strategic Transport Plan

The Sydney CBD to Parramatta Strategic Transport Plan is a transport plan to improve the way people move along and around one of Sydney’s most important and busiest areas, the corridor between Sydney CBD and Parramatta.

The Plan identifies future transport requirements and interventions at the regional, intermediate and local level by detailing a range of short, medium and long-term initiatives that aim to meet the key challenges faced by the Parramatta Road Corridor.

The plan sets the strategic framework for how transport can be improved in the corridor, for many different groups of people.

In developing the Sydney CBD to Parramatta Strategic Transport Plan, Transport for NSW has taken into consideration that this corridor will see significant residential and employment growth in the near future, as part of the UrbanGrowth NSW draft Parramatta Road Urban Transformation Program.

As Sydney's population grows by another 1 million in the next decade, we need to focus our energy on changing the way people move on and around the Parramatta Road Corridor. Every day there are around 2.2 million trips in the corridor between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD, the majority along Parramatta Road. The Strategic Transport Plan outlines all the work we will deliver in the short, medium and longer term to boost transport along and around this corridor.
