Agreement Template for the Installation & Maintenance of Traffic Management Equipment on Multi-Function Poles

Project Managers and Council staff should use the template to finalise an agreement between Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Services and the Council.

Purpose of the agreement is mentioned under “Recitals” there-in:

  1. The Council provides public infrastructure and services such as Multi-Function Poles (MFP) in its local government area.
  2. The Council wishes to have installed and maintained MFPs at various locations in the Council’s area.
  3. Under section 52A of the Transport Administration Act 1988 and section 87 of the Roads Act 1993, TfNSW is responsible for promoting traffic safety and efficiency throughout NSW by, among other things, providing and installing (or by arranging to have installed) traffic management equipment at various locations.
  4. The Council may wish to install or have installed certain traffic management equipment on the MFPs which it will provide and which will accommodate the installation of such equipment.
  5. This document sets out the agreement between the parties in relation to the installation, operation and maintenance of the traffic management equipment on the MFPs.

To select one from the two agreement templates, please contact Yufei.Wang@transport.nsw.gov.au with location of the intersection where Multi-Function Poles (MFP) are required to be used with Traffic Control Signals (TCS).

When Council details are finalised in the agreement template, please send an electronic copy of the agreement and site engineering documents to Behram.PESTONJI@transport.nsw.gov.au for further processing and finalisation of the agreement.
